Postdoctoral Researcher and Graduate Assistant Louisiana State University is seeking exceptional candidates for two Postdoctoral Researcher positions as well as multiple Ph.D.-level graduate research assistant positions in the broadly defined fields of environmental biotechnology and biological waste treatment. The postdoctoral positions will be housed in the U.S. EPA-funded Hazardous Substance Research Center/South and Southwest (HSRC/S&SW). The HSRC/S&SW is a competitively awarded, peer-reviewed research consortium led by Louisiana State University with the cooperation of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Rice University, and Texas A&M University to address critical hazardous substance problems. Tenure-Track Assistant ProfessorMolecular-Cellular Biologist The Department of Biology/Microbiology ( http://www.abs.sdstate.edu/bio/ ) at South Dakota State University invites applicants for a tenure-track, 12-month, 70% Academic Programs (teaching) and 30% Agricultural Experiment Station (research) appointment to join an expanding core of molecular biologists. Instructional responsibilities include team teaching a two-semester sophomore genetics, molecular and cellular biology series and a senior/graduate level molecular biology course. The successful candidate will develop a collaborative research program focused on cell signaling or proteomics, pursue extramural funding, maintain a good publication record, participate in faculty committees, and advise undergraduate and graduate students. Earned Ph.D. in genetics, biology, microbiology, or closely related area is required. Effective teaching ability or potential, effective interpersonal relationship skills, effective written and oral communication skills, and evidence of research capability required. Preference will be given to candidates with grant-writing experience and ability to conduct interdisciplinary research in prokaryotic cell signaling or proteomics. Candidates with experience in teaching courses in cellular/molecular biology or bioinformatics (individual or collaborative) using appropriate technologies are desired.
