SciCentral

Bookmark this superb Web site! SciCentral is your "one-stop site" to get
connected to funding agencies, women and minority groups, research articles, and
institutions in your field of choice. This site will prove to be an invaluable asset to
both scientists and engineers alike, as it provides access to over 50,000 Web sites in
various specialties.
SciCentral is an award-winning site that is produced by SciLink, Inc. and maintained by
professional scientists. In addition to being a gateway to other resources on the Web,
this interactive site also contains several sections, such as "Science in the
News," which provides a sampling of articles on science and technology that have
appeared recently in the mass media. Scientific queries are posted in the section
"Lend a Hand to a Colleague," and other sections like "Latest additions to
SciCentral" are updated daily and provide the user with timely research news.
SciCentral will also be hours of fun for K-12 children as it will lead them to
interactive Web sites with innumerable demonstrations, up-to-date scientific explanations,
and ideas for school projects. A personal favorite of mine is the section on "After
Hours Escapes" that focuses on an interesting and visually appealing science-related
site every week.
In short, SciCentral is a Web site of excellent quality which has links that appeal to
both laymen and the informed audience. I would rate this site among the crème de la
crème of science and engineering news resources on the Web.
