What About the Other Bioterrorism Threats?

At a time of increased awareness of bioterrorism by the federal government, it is disappointing that the experts have not talked about anything other than anthrax, Q fever, and tularemia for the past five years. The issue of mycotoxins and their potential role in bioterrorism should be addressed (Wang, J. S., and D. Creepman, Mutat. Res. 42:167-181, 1999). Some aflatoxin, sterigmatocystin, ochratoxin, fumonisins, and Penicillium toxins may be accessible to the public for a lot less than the common household fertilizer used to blow up the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City.
